MARINA DEL REY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Digicorp, Inc. (OTCBB:DGCO) announced today that it has entered into a content license agreement with New China Media, LLC, an aggregator of American and European content for China-based media companies. Additionally, Digicorp’s wholly owned subsidiary Youth Media (Hong Kong) Limited has entered into a content supply agreement with New China Media and Yes TV (Hong Kong) Limited, a content aggregator in Asia providing, among other things, live and delay broadcast for distribution and transmission via telecommunications networks.
These content agreements are part of Digicorp’s initiatives to focus its business as an aggregator and distributor of international content for China’s valuable and sought-after youth demographic. Digicorp is allocating a significant amount of its available resources to building and launching a large scale, advertising supported Internet media portal in China that will target China’s student population, which the Chinese government estimates at 160 million young people, ranging from eighth grade through university. “New China Media’s extensive China experience and Yes TV’s wide-ranging catalogue will play key roles in realizing Digicorp’s vision to deliver advertising along with premium content to China’s most active online community,” commented Jay Rifkin, Digicorp’s CEO.
New China Media will license to Digicorp the rights to use, transmit and publicly display certain content via the Internet in China. “Digicorp’s venture in China provides a compelling approach to target and penetrate one of the most sought-after demographics in Asia, bringing a unique value proposition to our content providers,” commented New China Media’s Chairman and CEO Dennis Pelino.
Yes TV will supply content to Digicorp’s subsidiary Youth Media for distribution via the Internet in China. “Yes TV is excited about delivering our content to a new and untapped audience in the fastest growing broadband market in Asia,” commented Thomas Kressner, CEO of Yes TV. “We believe in Digicorp’s strategy to break through this market and build a loyal following.”
